A Tradition of Excellence

At the Young Women’s Leadership Academy, academic rigor is only one piece of our students' success. Our Honor Societies represent the pinnacle of scholarship, leadership, service, and character. These organizations provide a platform for our scholars to deepen their expertise in specific disciplines while giving back to their community.

Academic and Leadership Honor Societies

  • National Honor Society (NHS): The premier organization recognizing high school students who demonstrate excellence in scholarship, leadership, service, and character.

  • National Junior Honor Society (NJHS): Focused on middle school scholars, building the foundation for future leadership and civic involvement.

  • YWLA Student Council (STUCO): Our national level student government body dedicated to representing the student voice and fostering school spirit.

STEM Honor Societies

  • National Technical Honor Society (NTHS): Celebrating excellence in workforce education and honoring students who excel in career and technical pathways.

  • International Robotics Honor Society (IRHS): Recognizing students who demonstrate exceptional skill in engineering, programming, and competitive robotics.

Fine Arts Honor Societies

  • International Thespian Honor Society: For our dedicated performers and technicians who show outstanding commitment to the theatrical arts.

  • Tri-M Music Honor Society: Highlighting scholars who go above and beyond in their musical ensembles and community performances.

  • National Honor Society for Dance Arts: Recognizing students who demonstrate artistic merit, leadership, and academic achievement in dance
